The BSR Consultation
Case History
The BSR practitioner takes a case history at the beginning of a consultation, noting previous mishaps, fractures, and operations, in addition to determining the client’s current experiences.
The Release
The client remains fully dressed and lies face down on the Body Stress Release bed. Firstly the practitioner identifies the sites of stress and lines of tension by using the feet as a bio-feedback monitor. He or she then carries out a number of releases by using mostly the thumb and light pressure or impulses in specific directions. These act as messages sent to the brain, alerting it to the stress that has been stored there and encouraging the body to re-connect to its self-healing capacity, and inner-body wisdom. The procedure is precise and simple.
The client may experience immediate relief from pain and muscle stiffness as the pressure on the nerves is released. Distorted posture may even be immediately corrected. The recovery process is usually very quick, and the muscle tone and equilibrium are usually quickly restored if the body stress occurred recently.
The layers of tightened muscles will be able to gradually relax back to their normal tone, but if the body stress has been present for a long time, it may be necessary to perform several consecutive releases over time in order to return to optimal health.
Making BSR appointments
Number of Appointments
Three appointments are initially scheduled for a new client because BSR is a process and the body releases and adapts in stages. The client is then given advice regarding follow-up appointments based on how the body reacts to the releases.
Most individuals seek out BSR practitioners for pain alleviation, particularly for headaches, lower-back ache and/or leg, shoulder, and neck problems. The practitioner takes note of all symptoms because they shed light on potential locations in the body where the tension may be held. After the release, the practitioner explains a bit more about where he or she has located bodily stress, and illustrates links between potential causes and effects using charts. For instance, a person with numb hands can identify connections on the nerve chart between the aching lower neck and the hands.
